Unity Jam will be turning the beach resort of Muizenberg into a festival town for one whole weekend from the 14th to the 15th of December. An excellent children’s theatre company, leading yoga teachers, nutritionists, scientists and over 100 local musicians spread across 9 stages are contributing to a festival that offers something for everyone.
FOR EVERYONE
Like any Music festival we have different stages and flavours. Traditional bands, Township Funk, Deep House Parties, Rock, Jazz, Classical, Rockabilly and Reggae. We also know that keeping the children entertained in the run up to Christmas can be challenging, so we have put a great programme together to help you start the holidays off with a weekend that the the kids will remember and you will enjoy.
- Over 15 different children’s activities including a Children's Disco in our shaded and spacious Family Stage area, the Beach and the Pavillion
- Over 100 local artists performing on 9 indoor and outdoor stages for over 48 hours
- Activities such as Yoga, Surfing, Dance Lessons, a Full Moon Beach Walk, Workshops, Folk & Cultural Story Telling, Hiking & Exploration
- Experience Independently Produced Arts, Crafts & Foods
UNITY JAM = AN ALTERNATIVE FESTIVAL ECONOMY
Unity Jam, founded on principles of community and cooperation, is a festival blueprint that creates inclusive & sustainable urban festivals made for & by the community. Unity Jam was first run in 2014 in the township of Langa and now is coming to Muizenberg. Over the next 3 years the blueprint of Unity Jam will be introduced into urban festival communities across the globe. At Unity Jam festivals every one involved has some skin in the game and is rewarded fairly from ticket revenues.
