Christmas in July 2019 at Companys Gardens, Cape Town, Western Cape, families, couples and groups to come and experience a magical garden, never seen in South Africa and wonderland with rainbow lights. Visitors will walk though 400m trail of the beautiful garden lit up with thousands of lights.
The event will exhibit various Christmas statues, Enchanted forest of magnificent lights, artificial snow flakes, music and family fun activities for groups and families. Date from 23rd August to 1st September 2019, time 6pm to 10pm Friday, Sat and Sunday only.
In the Southern Hemisphere, seasons are in reverse to the Northern Hemisphere, with summer falling in December, January, and February, and with winter falling in June, July, and August. Therefore, in some southern hemisphere countries, such as Australia, Comoros, Madagascar, Bolivia, Angola, French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Samoa, South Africa and New Zealand, Christmas in July or Midwinter Christmas events are undertaken in order to have Christmas with a winter feel in common with the northern hemisphere These countries still celebrate Christmas on December 25, in their summer, like the northern hemisphere.
This year families in Western Cape will have the opportunity to experience a winter white Christmas with snowfall from the 23rd August to 1st September 2019. The event will feature eco friendly artificial snow, father Christmas, Chariots Christmas background music, instant photo booth, Christmas lights etc. A perfect opportunity to put on your winter clothes while you escape one of into the most beautiful gardens of Western Cape.
