Do not miss out on this one of a kind event, in aid of the Animal Anti-Cruelty League! Grab your family, your friends and your furry best friend (aka your dog) for an unforgettable night, all for a great cause!! The AACL is SA's 2nd largest independent animal welfare organization and is completely self-funded, relying entirely on the generosity and goodwill of the animal-loving public for financial support.
Do your part and have a great time! Enjoy a +- 4km walk, delicious doggy & human food stands, pamper stations, free pet health check-ups, photo stations, live entertainment & much more.
Tickets are only R50 per dog! All humans enter for free and a maximum of 8 are welcome to accompany each pup! The first 3000 dogs to purchase tickets will receive a doggy pack including a LED light up collar, poop bag and carry bag.
Upgrade to the "Do-Good" Bag for R250 and get more "shizz" for your Shih Tzu. In addition to the items in your Doggy Pack, the Do-Good Bag will include a doggy blanket, dog treats, a dog toy or utensil, and vouchers in a recycled bag.
All profits will go to the Animal Anti-Cruelty League, so you can do something good for other animals in need, while having fun with your own pet!
Walkies Rules for Pet Owners:
- All humans accompanying a pet are free.
- The number of humans per pet are limited to 8.
- The walk will be a secure +-4km route through Greenside and Emmarentia.
- Dog handlers must be over the age of 18.
- If your dog is unpredictable, please place a yellow ribbon on your dog's collar. This will inform others to be cautious.
- No dogs off leash at any time.
- Parking at Roosevelt High School.
- All dogs attending must be up to date on their vaccinations.
- Please do not bring puppies who have not completed all their shots.
- No extendable leashes.
- No leashes longer than 2m.
- Should your pet be over-zealous or at times aggressive, we kindly request that you refrain from entering your pup to participate in the event.
We kindly request that the owner takes responsibility for their dog's droppings. Poop bags will be included in the doggy pack at check-in/ registration. There will be no trash cans along the way so please bring all used bags back and dispose of them in the trash cans at the venue.

If this event is cancelled, rescheduled or curtailed, Event Protect will provide a simple and fast refund process. You can apply directly to Event Protect for a refund. Provided the event has been accepted and is covered by the Programme, which is underwritten by "A" rated insurers, your application will be managed through Event Protect. Please note communicable diseases such as the COVID-19 Virus is not covered by this Policy.
