We Are One
We can get through this by helping each other
Over the past fifteen years, Thirst Bar Services has been fortunate to employ hundreds of amazing people from across South Africa. These wonderful humans have been the backbone of our success as a business. The industry we work in thrives on human engagement and interaction, and our barmen and bar runners represent us at every level with infectious energy, unique skills, unparalleled expertise and the warmest smiles around. Their unwavering dedication has helped us forge the relationships that have been crucial to our growth.
These guys work passionately and tirelessly, day and night, going from one event to the next, staying up ‘til the early hours, creating those unique, memorable experiences that we strive for with every job. They have become like family to us, and over the years we’ve seen them grow and develop their craft, becoming the best in the game.
Now, with our industry shut down, our guys have been deprived the opportunity to do what they do best. But we’re here for them, and are doing all we can to support them in these difficult times. We have set up a crowd funding initiative to assist part time staff at our Joburg, Cape Town and Durban branches. We’re aiming to raise R350 000 to share between our 150 barmen and bar runners, and have contributed R30 000 to get this going. But we can’t do it alone, and appeal to every one of you to help out and donate what you can. We are all in this fight together, and the only way we can win it is by being there for each other. Your contribution, no matter how small, will go a long way to keeping food on the table for our staff and their families.
When you contribute, you’ll receive regular updates and testimonials from the people you are assisting, as well as the personalised cocktail recipes they’ve created as gratitude for helping out.
As we go through this global reset, we need harmony and togetherness to help us through the crisis. If you are able to contribute, we thank you in advance, and look forward to serving you all at events throughout South Africa in the near future.
